Warner Home Video will release George Clooney's award-winning 'Good Night, and Good Luck' on HD DVD day-and-date with the already-announced Blu-ray version, becoming the first title to debut simultaneously on both next gen-formats.

Due for release on August 1, the HD DVD will include the same features as the Blu-ray edition. Presented in 1.78:1 widescreen and encoded at 1080p, soundtrack options include an English Dolby Digital-Plus track

Among the extras is an audio commentary with writer-director Clooney and producer Grant Heslov, the "'Good Night, and Good Luck' Companion Piece" featurette, and the theatrical trailer.

Warner has set a $39.95 list price for the release. Note that unlike the Blu-ray edition, the HD DVD version will be another hybrid release, featuring a standard DVD version of the film on the flipside of the disc.
