'Assassination of Jesse James' Comes to Blu-ray, HD DVD

Warner has announced a late February next-gen arrival for the Brad Pitt western 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.'
An epic film (clocking in at nearly three hours) with a long title to match, 'Jesse James' failed to make much of a dent at the fall box office despite the marquee value of Pitt, but there has been some Oscar buzz for the film's performances and cinematography.

Warner will debut the lushly-photographed western on Blu-ray and HD DVD/DVD combo disc, day-and-date with the standard DVD on February 26, 2008.
Given the film's length and the single-disc configurations of both the Blu-ray and the HD DVD, extras are predictably slim, with only the 30-minute documentary "The Assassination of Jesse James: Death of an Outlaw" and the original theatrical trailer included.
Tech specs for the next-gen versions have not yet been released, but we'll keep you posted.
Warner has set a $35.98 suggested list price for the Blu-ray and HD DVD combo versions.
