Universal Studios Home Entertainment continues their aggressive push of the
HD-DVD format by announcing four new disc releases for this coming June and
July. Listed over the weekend on the studio's Home Video & DVD Release Schedule at UniversalStudios.com are 'The Rundown' and the Adam Sandler comedy 'Happy Gilmore' on June 13, followed by 'Friday Night Lights' and 'Pitch Black: Unrated Director's Cut' on July 11.
Each film will be presented in its original theatrical aspect ratio and encoded at full 1080p video, and will offer English, French and Spanish Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 Surround tracks and English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles.
Each disc will feature the same video-based supplementary material as the standard DVD releases, though will not include the same text and ROM features. No exclusive HD content has yet been announced.
Retail is $34.95 each.
All four titles have been added to our comprehensive HD-DVD Release Schedule, and we'll keep you posted as any further disc details come in.
