The small screen's Superman just got a high-def boost with the announcement of 'Smallville: The Complete Fifth Season,' which Warner Home Video will unleash this November on HD DVD.

As rumored weeks ago after the studio sent out a promotional ad touting 'Smallville' as one of its first TV on HD DVD releases, Warner has now confirmed that the popular series' fifth season will hit the format on November 28.

Order 'Oz the Great and Powerful'

Coming to Blu-ray June 11th

That also makes the Man of Steel the first TV property to hit a next-gen format, after the recent postponement of 'The Sopranos: Season Six, Part One,' which was originally scheduled to debut on HD DVD November 7.

No specs, box art or pricing details have been revealed just yet for 'Smallville,' but we'll certainly keep you posted as soon as news comes in.

We've also added a new listing for the release to our HD DVD Release Schedule.
